Why cashmere products are more expensive than wool products

In addition to the fact that cashmere products’ hand feel is better than wool products, there are also the following reasons why cashmere products are more expensive than wool products.

1. Cashmere is more difficult to collect than wool.

The method of collecting wool is shaving with scissors. Just like taking off clothes, you can shave off the whole hair, please see figure 1. The way to collect cashmere is to comb it slowly with a special iron comb, and comb down the layer of cashmere that the goat clings to the skin. When using, it is necessary to remove the coarse wool mixed with it, leaving only cashmere, please see figure 2.

2. The output of wool is much more than that of cashmere.

 In other words, the cashmere combed by five goats can only be made into one cashmere sweater. However, the hair cut by five sheep can make 75 sweaters. Is the difference obvious enough?

 It is also worth mentioning that cashmere must be collected when the season comes, or it will fall off naturally. But wool is not the same, wool will grow all the time if you don’t shave it.
